A BIT ABOUT ME
I am a Registered Nurse (RN) and a Professionally Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation. I have master's degrees in both adult learning and counselling.
I have been working with people when they are most vulnerable for more than 30 years, which has been and is, a privilege and a humbling experience. The relationships I form with people I work with are based on trust, appreciation, acceptance and a belief that we are all doing the best we can in any given moment, according to our circumstances.
I provide psychological support services to people who are experiencing difficulties in life related to their health and wellbeing. These can be related to things like work, career, change, stress or burn out or simply wanting to make sense of things that are happening, or have happened in life.
I also provide leadership coaching and reflective practice supervision to people who work in healthcare.
Because of my healthcare background, the people often drawn to work with me tend to struggle with and want to work through issues, problems or concerns related to their health and/ or healthcare. These are often related to the following:
Being diagnosed and/or living with a long-term health issue or cancer
Caring for someone who is living with a long-term health issue or cancer
Caring for someone who is experiencing a mental illness
Working in healthcare and seeking support to: manage emotions inherent in act of caring; to promote physical, emotional and social well-being; and / or for career development
I use an integrated approach to drawing on person-centred, narrative and solution-focused therapies to provide existential, emotional and/or practical support that is guided by each client's wishes and needs.
I BELIEVE THAT
"None of us is broken. We are all perfectly imperfect. The past is how we got here. It made us who we are. It doesn’t determine our future. We do."
